- Coping with Change
The world is constantly changing! This seems to be an inevitable part of workplaces today. In order to continue to be sustainable, most organisations need to continuously change and adapt to the changing external world. Change however is one of the most significant stressors for many people. Frequently this evokes fear, uncertainty and challenge. However how we perceive change can determine if we struggle with change or cope and thrive. This workshop assists participants to understand change and develop strategies to cope more effectively with change at both work and in our personal lives.
- Managing Workplace Change
In uncertain times, many organisations are facing crucial decisions in order to survive. Situations of redundancy, employee grievances, critical incidents, and general stress can all result in employees becoming distressed at work. Frequently this results in managers and supervisors having to communicate these changes to employees. Some may feel ill equipped to communicate effectively in making change announcements, particularly if the news is not favourable. Many fear the reaction of their employees and consequently worry if they have the skills to handle the situation. This workshop provides participants with techniques to structure these announcements to prevent miscommunication and to effectively manage employee reactions. Anecdotal surveys of most people in these positions show that many feel uncomfortable when confronted by upset, teary or emotional employees. Learn simple and effective techniques to defuse emotions with ease and support distressed employees.
