- Dealing With Difficult People
Have you ever encountered someone who was difficult to deal with? Someone who was rude, demanding, patronizing, aggressive or even critical? Most people find themselves becoming reactive or frustrated in dealing with these people. This can add to our overall stress levels. This fun and interactive session will unlock the secret behavioural motivations that drive difficult behaviours. Participants will take away practical and useful strategies to respod to diificult people more effectively and with minimal effort.

Behavioural De-escalation
Frontline staff may be confronted with challenging situations, and people who are exhibiting a range of aggressive, difficult or distressed behaviours. These can verbally or physically threaten their personal integrity. Such behaviour places a great strain on the coping ability of those affected and may result in undesirable consequences. When staff are unsure as to the most effective ways to respond to such behaviours, they tend to revert to instinctive defence postures and communication styles which often exacerbate rather than defuse the situation. Simple and easily applied techniques can assist to reduce the chances of the situation escalating. Participants will learn techniques to defuse the difficult situation and personal safety methods to keep themselves from potential harm. -
Creating Positive Team Relationships
Many individuals ina team are able to cooperate effectively, however in some teams there exists conflict and a lack of cohesion. This creates stress, disharmony and can impact on team productivity. Positive team dynamics are essential in reducing potential liability in terms of employee stress, absenteesim, turnover, worker's compenstaton claims, and other forms of industrial and fiscal risk. Successful teamwork is not about mastering subtle, sophisticated theories, but rather about embracing common sense with uncommon levels of discipline and persistence. - Positive Performance Management
Challenging and stressful are words often used by managers and supervisors to describe dealing with poor performance. When someone is not performing, a performance management process is usually applied. In many cases, how this is conducted may result in a claim of bullying and harassment against the supervisor or manager. Performance management need not be a negative process. By following some key principles supervisors and managers can turn these processes into a positive experience for all and one that enables the employee to demonstrate their capacity. This workshop will explain the strategies and techniques to create a positive and easy process when dealing with poor performance.
